My Childhood :)

Wow! Childhood. When u just listen to this word itself you go back to memories right? :) How nice were those days! I actually wanna go back to childhood itself not just into memories. If I had a TIME MACHINE I would have done that ;)

Wanna know how was my childhood?? :)Here I go with some of the best memories of my days..

- I like to see the sunrise but not the sunset. When I was in 2nd and 3rd standard I used to go with Dad to Pavilion grounds in Mysore on Sunday early mornings to see the BIIIG raising Sun. Dad used to go for jogging. I also used to get ready like a sports girl in shorts, t-shirt n shoes ;) Jog till the sun rises n then stand looking at it :)

- Playing with rubber band was one of my favorite pass times.. Use rubber band and fingers and try to make different shapes with that. Learning new shapes in that always interested me :)

- Kites :) Not the movie ;) ya loved to fly kites. During the festival time (gaaLipata habba) used to make a neat kite with plastic and put the thread and run in the street holding the thread in hand. But ya for festival used to get a big one from dad. Flying it in Yuvaraja college grounds with full big role of thread! Awesome it was. Once left the thread after flying it very very high :-P

- Seeing Dasara elephants is my favorite even to this day :)

- Parents used to take me to Mysore palace every Sunday to see the illumination. I used to wait for the lights to get on. When I was 2 yrs old I had run towards the palace to catch those lights ;)

- Fight with bro for the comic book "Balamangala" on every Wednesday :-P

- Feeding sparrows was one of my good times. I hardly see sparrows now. Those days many sparrows used to come n sit on the roof of our house. During my breakfast time, spreading little rice on the ground and counting the sparrows :)

- The most important one which makes u guys reading this laugh.. :) Me n my little brother studied in same school. Due to fever he didn't come to school for 3 days. 4th day while coming back from school I seriously forgot that he was in school that day n came back home. Poor bro! He was in LKG. n Me in 2nd standard. He was crying standing in the school :(

- Trying to catch butterflies :) Butterflies always seemed interesting to me! Colorful :)

- Playing typical girlish games :) skipping, blocks, kuntebille, house game and the most important teacher game which i always liked ;)

- Playing doubles skipping with mom when there were no friends also is memorable :)

- Mt first watch! I was so excited when my dad bought me a red colored watch with heart shaped dial for my birthday when I was in 5th standard :)

- First time I saw a fridge in my neighbor's house. When I was in 3rd standard. I was so wondered to see that. Every time when I went to play with the girl their, I used to ask aunty, "Aunty can I open and see the freezer?" :P n then her daughter myself n few more girls used to play with ice cubes :P

- Fancy dress competitions! :)

- Cotton candy, chocolates, soft toys, counting stars n gazing at sky, Bouquet red rose (which has a diff shade of red), 1 day trips with parents, summer vacation @ granny's place in Bangalore many more add to my childhood memories :))

Hmmm those were the days :) Wanna go back right? It reminded u all of ur childhood I know :) Share ur memories with me! I'm all excited to listen :)

Cheers

Tough time, Financial Independance for a Women and Old age

Somewaht I'm totally down today. Felt like writing all thoughts in my mind here. I suddenly realized how important it is for a women to be financially independat. My uncle passed away 2 days ago. Wife, One daughter of my age and one son who finished 12th and the aged mother in her 85.

By now you would have got the picture what is worrying me! Partially you are right. But yeah my cousin is working so little bit manageable position. Question is about My granny?! What next?! Dont know. All her daughters are married. 3 of them. But financially dependant on husbands. So there is no such decision which they can take on their own that whatever happens I'll take care of my mother! I'm answerable.. No this is not the case. Permission Permission Permission from Husband.

On the other hand, now at such an age, with hearing problem where will my granny go? who will take care. Others are not Ok. No one is ready actually..

Its tough for her also and those who take care of her also. She should be taken care like a kid. who will do that?!

I feeling too low now after seeing all these! Not in any position to console anyone also! Tough time.....

Now I realized the importance of financial independance for women and also how tough it is for a human being to live in this old age!

My ambition of starting an oldage home became stronger after this! Should see how it can be materialized....

On a heavily raining evening... :)

It was 6PM. I was in Bus. Towards Bangalore. It started raining heavily. Got stuck in the traffic jam for about an hour. Not moving ahead at all. Started conversation with the co-passenger. Usual stuff. What do u do? Where are you traveling from etc etc. That bus was coming from Coorg. Stop over at Mysore. Hence the discussion started on tourist places in and around coorg.

Could hear to many other parallel discussions also. Everyone in the bus were tired waiting for the traffic to clear. There were a mix of ppl from different background. One was a manager in HSBC bank. Another person was an engineer working for Bangalore Metro. One more young lady was a footwear designer. There was a kid who seem to be very intelligent. She was talking about Mystery stories of many well know authors. Studying in 3rd standard and her knowledge level was really astonishing! It was a mixture of stories in the bus. There was a person who was talking over phone to his old friend about his engineering days of 70s. Many other small kids were also traveling in the bus as it was the last day of summer vacation for them.

Finally the bus started from kengeri clearing the traffic jam slowly after a long pause of about an hour. The road was like a swimming pool with almost 2 ft water on the road. Somehow reached majestic. It started pouring again.

Stood under a small tea shop for shelter for about half an hour. It was getting darker and darker as time passed by. Almost 8:30PM. Started off towards the road to catch an auto. Luckily the Auto driver who was an elderly man in his 70s I guess, said yes. I was so happy that i got an auto to reach my pg at 8:30PM n in heavy rain. But yeah the demand was "one and half meter madam" happily said ok to that also :P

Now my enjoyable ride through Bangalore roads started.. Every road we entered was full of water. Road couldn't be seen at all. The driver was driving very carefully. He wasn't able to make out where the road was good, where there were pits. Nothing we could make out. I was enjoying that rain. First time in my 4 yrs life in Bangalore i was safely sitting and watching the whole city getting drenched :) Cool breeze. Rain Water sprinkles from the open sides of the auto. Felt like having hot hot pakodas with chai.. Ah!! What a combination in that weather! Unluckily i didn't have that. But my mouth was watering. :D

Meanwhile the driver was more tensed to get me home safely than myself. He said in a worried voice "madam customer na hathskondidhini auto ge safe agi karkond hodre saaku".. A car passing by splashed all the rain water on us and passed by with very high speed. I was totally drenched sitting in the auto :-/ Felt like going through a series of water rides in a water park :-)

Finally @9:20PM reached my PG. What an experience it was..! Decided never will travel back to Blr on a sunday evening until the rainy season is over. Though the experience was good; parents, my roomies n finally the auto driver himslef were tensed about me reaching safely.

It got added as one more experience to my Blr-Mys travel experiences.....

Tiring but nice journey! :)

Crazy Thoughts

Year 2009.. I never felt it was a good year for me! Though there were many success and failures, overall it wasn't a pleasant year. And again 2010 started badly.. Somehow not good. I hope there is an end to this. Some problems in life will never have a soln. I started feeling TIME is the answer to all these problems. With time, you encounter new problems which take high priority and the older ones automatically get solved somehow. Or even without solution they get ignored with time and with more difficulties.

Problem now is not at all a problem when something bigger than this is infront of me. Though the beginning is not good, there is never a bad ending. I didnt start this year with the enthusiasm I used to receive the new year every year. But I hope to make this year best for myself and the people around me. Still a long way to go. Have made no resolutions this year. I wonder why?! If I make a resolution I surely achieve them.

Want to talk about confidence also here. How confident a person can be? How much ever confident is one person, after listening to those who cribb always, who blame others for their mistakes, who dont have any goals set, the confident person also looses his confidence for sometime. When I thought why is this, I just found this answer. Those who look at a problem being an outsider will get to know the best solution.

I have seen two kinds of people. One, those who share their feelings with their closed ones and get the different view point and think in the best way. second, those who dont share anything and go in the same track of thinking? which one is best? Being an Introvert or an extorvert?

Some weird and crazy thoughts flew in my mind. Just put them here....

Comics.. Fiction.. Horror.. Thriller.. Suspense.. Love..

What does this title mean? :) Any guess? :-P Line of writings for the writers and types of readings for the Book readers... :) Yes I'm talking about Reading habits.. These days I'm talking too much about the hobbies right? May be.. But this topic came to my mind all of a sudden.. :)

There is a saying in Kannada "ದೇಶ ಸುತ್ತು ಕೋಶ ಓದು" which means travel all around the world, and read as many books as possible. I do read books.. Most of them belong to Kannada Literature which would give taste of all those words mentioned in the title of this post. I love to read those books which are small in size :-P so that I can finish it fast and pick up the next one. I like to own the book. So all most 95% of times I have bought the books to myself instead of borrowing it. You might ask do I have a library at home? Yes kind of.. ;)

But when reading as a habit comes in some general conversations with my friends or colleagues they give surprised looks and talk how can I read a book after my college days, that too kannada books.. Why shouldn't one read books? I wonder how much people are missing out by not reading books.. Few stick onto computer games and Internet all the time, few like to read only management stuff, few read only newspapers, few read only mythology or philosophy. I have seen people who belong to all these categories.. But I seriously feel how much people are missing by not reading and sticking onto TV and computers all the time!

When I was in school I tried to read shakespears.. Didnt understand much.. :P But stil I managed to read most of his dramas.. One more book about French Revolution which I read during my college days was by Maxim Gorky, "MOTHER" a very good french novel..

Wait for some book critics in my coming posts.. :)

Cheers,
Sady :)

Emotions in a Mixed Bag

Diary writing. Can it be called as a Hobby? I'm not sure. Read an article about diary writing about 5 years ago in a kannada magazine. That influenced me a lot. That was my engineering days. Didn't know what people write in diaries. But wanted to write! To my luck I was gifted a diary for the New year by my cousin. Diary looked very nice. velvet covered Red colored Diary. Started writing about the important events in college which I was part of. Made it a daily routine. Off late the enthu of writing it daily reduced. I remembered my diary only I felt bored or there was something important to quote!

After coming out of native place for job, it became a regular routine again as there were not many friends for me to share my thoughts. I didn't know blogging also that time. It contained many articles which could be published in some newspaper or online journal etc. It was all mix of thoughts and experience working in the IT city and travel during weekends to native. Some book critics as well.

Later when it became a hectic and mechanical lifestyle, reading the kannada literature and writing critics, also articles reduced. There are as many friends in Bangalore now as I have in my native place. My diary became a place where I write only When I'm feeling low.

Few days back I opened my diary after an year. Was reading through the pages. So many important events quoted in that. Mixed emotions while reading them. Many Gyans enlightenment also. I wrote it again. Had so many confusions thoughts in my mind. Wrote everything. Felt relieved after that. After so many years If I look back when I was thinking whats the use of writing a diary and now if I read my diary I realize. Yes I know. :) Being a chatter box, when I cannot reach my closed ones to share thoughts, I talk to my diary. :)

Misinterpretation of speech

Many a times you would have misinterpreted someone's words or others might have mistaken your words. For sure everyone would have come across such situations in life. My friend used to tell me always "One thing can be understood in 100 different ways". Yes that is true.

It is always the way how a person puts things across. Though it is said with the right intention, the listener might not get the correct point due to the tone of the speaker, which would lead to misunderstandings.

Take for ex: Sending an SMS. How well it is possible to express something in that? Might be something was told as fun. The tone might have been understood as being rude. Definitely difference of opinion would come between the two persons.

I have experienced few such situations myself and have been observing among others also. I sometimes think what is the good solution to avoid such difference of opinion? Is it good to convey the message only up to the point and leave it to the listener to interpret the way he understands or explains everything about the topic so that it is not mistaken at all? It is not always possible to explain things is what I understand. Whenever such a situation occurs, then it is good to make it clear.

The way we put things across!! Yes I have very good example for this from self and my friend's experience. In any company an employee speaking to his manger about his concerns. If all concerns are told highlighting the negative points, you know the impact! But if it is told in a positive aspect the result is different. The manager would definitely listen to your concerns and some action would be taken on that. But this is fine when a person is interacting with people who are not very close and conversation is limited to specific areas.

It cannot be done with all those who are close. Direct conversation, it is told the way how it comes to mind. But still why would a person mis-interpret is still a question to me! Including myself. Why don’t people get the correct message or the right meaning with which it was conveyed? Strange Question. Yet to find an answer..

Just this thought came to my mind.. Blogged here.. :) Comment your opinions too.
