Gossips!!

Interested in Gossipping?? huh why so? :)

Last weekend I attended a wedding. It was one of my colleague's marriage. Me n shru didn't know anyone there except the bride and her younger sis.. As it was a marriage it looked like all other marriages with soo many ppl. All dressed traditionally. some rituals going on one side.. Few ppl still busy making some arrangements. Few others in taking care of the guests etc etc.. It was a typical south Indian marriage.. When we were looking at all these, we could hear a female voice from behind commenting about someone else who had landed there from abroad.. "hey she has become soo thin, before she was soo moti", from one more corner, "nimmagalige madwe gothaytha? innu ilwa?" (did ur daughter's marriage got settled or not?) , from one more corner "ee madwe xxx matrimony indha gothaythu.. y dnt u try for ur daughter?" (this proposal was found from xxx matrimony, y don't you try ur daughter's there?), and again one more voice "aa hudugi ge naaveli nenapirthivi?, US ge hogi 4 varsha aaythu" (that girl wont remember us, its been 4 years after she went to US) huh sooo much of gossipping..

We were thinking why people at marriages speak only on such topics, gossip about someone else? Why are they so curious about somebody's life? We couldn't find answer to it anyways.. Watched the rituals, tried to understand what was going on with difficulty. Wished the new couple , had nice lunch ;) n came back..

Tell me also if u get to know why ppl talk such gossips? ;)

How come you didn't mention the match makers?? At every wedding you will find some aunties / uncles who keep noticing young, unmarried girls / guys. They collect enough details about them and finally approach their parents suggesting some so-called eligible profiles. You might have experienced such situations yourself ;) ...

Ps: Conversation heard at a reception recently, "nimma magalige 22 varusha alva? obba huduga US alli iddane. MS madiddane, avanige iga 26.. nimma magala jataka kodutirra??" (your daughter is 22 right? I know a guy who is in US. He has done his MS. He is 26 now. Would you like to pass her horoscope?).

:-D "obba huduga US alli idane.. "
well said! Am sure most parents' eyes would gleam at this line..

Now, a bit of my thought on sms's blog..

1. Get a Life: Gossips are made by ppl who don't have to tell much about themselves, dull ppl they are, with an uninteresting life, and they derive pleasure peeking into other ppl's lives. Get a life ya!

2. Rumour Mongers: ppl who want to spread rumors. Have you watched them closely? they only speak looking around, if anyone is listening to them.

3. Jealousy: They are incapable, and hence find similar ppl amongst them to ill-talk or bring down the person. Heard of the Indian crabs story?

Cheez! now for the solution.
1. Its an entertainment to listen to em, and leave it off.
2. Ignore! Ignore! Ignore! Ignorance is bliss..

Cheers!

harmless gossiping can be fun to indulge in at times.
atleast they provide good entertainment overhearing them, mostly if not always! :)

@Usha: yeah I agree with u.. If its harmless and entertaining, no issues :)

@Venu: I agree that it involves scandals and ppl enjoy it. But not everyone.. There are certain group of ppl who dont enjoy. Its the media which makes such gossips a big news for commercial purposes is what I feel
