It's 35..!

Middle age crisis is what they call it when a person in his late 30s and early 40s has weird goals of life and thinking what more he can do. Am I hitting that phase already?! Am I in that right age of mid age crisis? Not sure yet. Would you answer it for me? :)
I am making more time for myself to give a "Me Time" atleast 2hrs in a week.
Have become more health conscious. Like everyone else, look at the healthy food material when I step out.
Choose the health grade dishes
Make travel plans
Go on a careless shopping and feel good about it
Dont care about who thinks what about your looks or attire and still go for bright colors and bold statement dresses
Getting interested in some new hobbies.
Learning new skills
Each day my mind wanders from one topic to another and thinks I should take this up! I should do this etc
I wanna travel to far away places, grow as many plants in my balcony as possible, decorate the living space, Baking for elders and kid at home. Try out new dishes for a healthy living. Now I am part of a reading club where I get to listen to so many new book reviews. New perspectives. Varied perspectives towards life...
Life has so much to offer us and we have so much to learn from it. Enjoying the Mid age crisis ;) if this is what it is... :D

A good friend is needed to power up your day!!

It's been quite sometime that I blogged. I have been busy with my little one and my life with very less meetups with my friends. I don't remember when I read a book last time. My photography skills are limited to phone shoot or clicking pictures of my little one.

As my little one is growing my interests, friends, time that I spend on everything is changing with it's priorities. My daughter's friends moms are my frequently met up friends now. Spending time in public parks is more done now. Finding new educational toys n teaching has been a good hobby I must say. With all these skills developing with me, still I am a person with my own likes, dislikes and interests for myself. Amidst all these, a good friend who shares your interests is like a catalyst for anyone to be feeling enthusiastic about life and daily chores.

Started back to job three months ago. I have found a good friend at office whom I meet and speak endlessly during my commute back home. Those endless talks of 1.5 hr rejuvenates me so much as we have many common interests. Starting from "Appata kannada premi" to eateries, photography, travel etc etc. That's how my day at office ends almost daily now. For quite sometime i didn't get to interact with my friends at all apart from mommies like me who speak about kids kids n kids... That "identity" with myself was not even discussed anywhere.

I am blogging today after such a long time to share it with you all that try speaking to that one friend with whom you can speak out your heart and feel energized!!! :-)

Travelling is bliss.

Travel travel and travel..! :) 2014 was a year of travel for me. Have been to many new places. Have got so many new friends. Tasted variety of dishes. uff now Ijust want to stay at home relaxed for quite sometime... I will definitely share my travelogue for all these places... :) Here is the list of places: Varkala, Allepey, Trivendrum (Kerala), Delhi, Agra, mathura, vrindavan, Kundapura, Davanagere, Maari kanive/hiriyur dam, Thirupathi, Hyderabad, Indore, Omkareshwar, Ujjain, Goa, Tanjore and Kumbakonam to close the year with! :) And of course multiple trips to Mysore :) It was an amazing year! Each place was so much fun as most of them were my first times. Starting from boat house, backwater resorts at kerala to Wonder of the world at Agra, Lord Krishna's birth place at Mathura, Superb eat street at Indore, Navgaraha temple visit which was truly a temple run to close the year with. I have got no chance to scribble about my travels all through the year! I have made a new hobby to get a souvenir from each place I visit to add it to showcase at home now with small tags to it mentioning the place and date! :) Allepey, Varkala and Trivendrum: This was an amazing trip. My 1st anniversary trip. It was March first week. Enjoyed each moment of this trip to the core. Unforgettable memories of the places. These places were a feast to my camera also. It was second week of feb when we decided to make this trip. I always search for accomodation from tripadvisor. Read the reviews shared by other travellers and then take a call on that. Deshadan resorts was the place I found to be reasonable and good reviews. To my luck, there was only 1 room left to be booked. I was lucky to book that. It is a backwater resort. Few traveller photos were also there. I was quite impressed by it. Next place was Varkala. This was Karthik's choice. Varkala is one of the best beaches in the world with very few ppl. I managed to book the same resort there as well. It was 28th Feb 2014 night, when we started to drive to Allepy. It was a real long journey. We drove continously till early morning. After which we took some 30mins nap and continued. It was an amazing drive through palakkad and trissur. Google maps are amazing. Even the smallest roads were directed so exactly that we reached the resort with ease. As the checkin was at 12pm and we were early by an hour, we had to wait. They are not flexible about timings. But the staff were very courteous and they gave us brekfast to fill our hunger and roam around. It was a super hot sunny day! Room was cozy! This is an amazing place just next to the backwaters. Very calm, peaceful. Away from all huzzle buzzle of the city. Lunch, snacks and dinner everything was just superb. Vegetarian food especially. Their cafetaria arrangement itself is awesome. We had no plans to stay in boat house which doesnt move in the night, nothing to see outside the boat. I just didn't want to stay overnight in the boat house. After dinner took a short walk inside the resort. As it was dark, by the water edge could hear so many fishes popping into and out of water. That sound was so re-freshing. In that pitch dark, there were fishing nets with 50watt bulbs glowing with a switch to control the light. men were at work at that time also. It was even more amazing to see that person getting a call on his cell at that location and conversing.! I was just waiting for the next day. As our resort could witness the beautiful sunrise besides the backwaters. As always, photography enthusiasts will never mind giving up sleep to capture such moments! It was indeed a beautiful Sunrise over there. Early morning with small boats localites were there for fishing, few were chceking their chinese fishing nets. Waited for sunrise for quite sometime. I just cant forget the beautiful rays that gave me wonderful silhoutte pics there.. The day went in looking around the resort, taking a walk in that green land, seeing those typical kerala style houses etc. As we were in Allepy, I wanted to get the boat house experience n not to miss it. Our next day was planned for it. At the resort they quoted about 6000/- for a day trip. Felt its too costly and tried contacting few aquatic sports and travel ppl by taking numbers throough google. But it was a standard rate. Surprisingly, they ask you if you want 2BHK, 3BHK etc :D which was little weird to understand in the beginning. It is like this, a boat with 2-3 rooms and a common area and a kitchen. If you want the entire boat for yourself it costs much more. 6k was for sharing the place with 1 or 2 other families there. Finally we made the booking. We checked out at resort. We headed towards the boathouse point. Our boat house trip started at 10AM. There were two more families with us. The place from where the boats start is so nice to look at. Each boat is different with different artistic windows, few even have multiple floors etc. Different colored decked up boats. Its the core business too to make money there. After seeing the boat house and its room, felt good for not staying there. Its good if you have a big bunch of people to spend time with. Otherwise its so boring.. They provided us with welcome drink , some fresh fruit juice which I dont remember now. Each boat house has cable TV dishes to capture satellite signals. We were happy to see the aquatic sports centre and the greenary besides us, many other boats moving by etc for sometime. But over a period of time, it was so boring that the sceneray next to us doesn't seem to change at all. Lunch was ok ok. Vegetarian food was not that great. Non veg food must have been good :D If you are a person who enjoy, non-veg and sea food atleast for that you would like the boat house. We finished our boatride by 4pm. He didnt take us to any island as he promised, instead he was riding around the same place for quite sometime slowly. This was our 3 day trip at Allepey. We headed towards to Varkala from there.

Birthdays, happiness, Celebrations and expectations..! Happiness comes from within..! :)

It was my birthday yesterday. :) Yup 07-07-14. Special number this year. 07+07 = 14 :) I somehow was not excited about the day as I used to be every year. For no reason. This year I didn't want to celebrate my bday. Didn't want to give any special meaning to it. I did not expect anyone to celebrate it for me also. So when there are least expectations, everything turns out to be a surprise for a person. :)

With some past experiences of my birthday, me expecting too much from people around and getting disappointed was common. So, this year I wanted to donate orphanage kids for their study purpose and do some useful thing. Few weeks back found out from a friend of mine about one orphanage in Wilson Garden - "Anaatha Shishu Sevashrama". Children from age group of 3 yrs to 15 yrs are here. Around 60 children. All are school going kids. Starting from play home. Had made up my mind to give them notebooks and stationery as the schools have just started.

It really pinched me when I went there and witnessed the kids. I see two extremes. One at my own apartment community where children are being given all hi-fi gadgets to play and spend their time. Lots of pocket money to lavishly spend etc. The other one is here where the children are deprived of basic necessities and some love and affection. More than that proper guidance to their studies who would want to become future pillars of this nation.

After returning from there, lot more thoughts were still in mind. A midst all these my bday did come with some surprises from friends, parents and hubby! I did cut 4 cakes. Cutting cake has become a routine now. Some flower delivery - my parents gave me a surprise. It really did bring smile on my face. A card from hubby with text "To my Darling Wife" which was like "oh WoW" for me! You may ask whats special in all these. They are all small. But ya my mom got the online bouquet delivery done for the first time. Husband who never picked up a greeting card in life gives such a romantic card. My dad's cousin and his kiddo were waiting for me at my doorstep to return from walk to greet me n gift me! :) As I had disabled Facebook notification this year, there were very few who genuinely remembered this day and wanted to wish me! All this added and made this day more special.

I didn't go for any big parties, dinners nothing. It was a simple Rice-Rasam meal at home which was more soothing at the end of the day. May be over a period of time, everyone wants to maintain low profile at some point. This time of the year was mine. I did enjoy such simple one this time. Made Jamoons myself this year for my b'day. My mom always used to prepare some sweets at home which I would like, as a gesture of celebrating b'day at home. As I cannot prepare on a Monday which is a working day for me, I did prepare on Sunday. Felt happy cooking some sweets for myself :)

When we expect the least from people around, the more happier the life is. This was so true this time :) I was happy for myself. Only thing I craved for was to spend some quality time with my loved ones and parents both of which didn't happen this year.! Though everything was there, I was trying to find happiness in something else. May be that was this.

Plan your birthdays and special occasions to yourself and don't let anyone else plan it for you. It's your day! You plan it the way you want to spend it :) Happiness comes from within :) There are always people around who would want to know what gift did I get? how did I celebrate this day etc etc. Just to make them feel happy I can't change my way..! This is my way of celebrating :)

Re Kabira maan ja, Re Faqeera Maan ja... :)

Today when I started to listen this song on my mobile, many thoughts passed by. This song was so apt for me. I will tell you why a little later.

"Life is very uncertain" - I have realized each bit of this in the last few weeks. At the same time need to accept all that comes in life and move on! After marriage life has changed a lot. Commute to mysore has come down. Attending every tom dick n harry's weddings has grown in list. Partying, late nights movies, dinners, rides what not! Life is so amazing with all these isn't it? :) No worries always stay happy. Parents are happy. In-laws are happy and Happy couple. If life is always smooth like this, when do we learn the value of it?!

Have gained some noticeable weight over this 1.25 yrs of married life. Every Aunty who looks at me now at some or the other wedding says " Oh sadhana u have put on a little weight. U look good now.. Don't add more okay?!". Others also say, "Ur husband n MIL are taking care of you so well its visible!" So What??!! Is it the only talk on this earth that I am gaining weight! Every woman after marriage adds some more weight due to change in lifestyle and no fitness regime for months - getting ready to office, helping in kitchen, running to find the cab/bus etc etc. Definitely it adds to all the other factors of they taking care of me really well.

There were only two persons who wanted me to keep fit with some fitness regime. Mom n hubby. Mom knowing the complexities the life would offer in future she kept on saying this. Okay its time to hit treadmill as every aunty is able to figure out I have gained weight...

It wasn't an easy way out for me! But ya it did discover lots of things in my body. Every girl cares about her facial, eyebrow shape, nail shape, hair style etc But how many of us would care about each internal organs too?! Not many frankly speaking. Routine medical checkups are not our cup of tea :) Making faces at it. Oh I am all healthy is the thinking. No a BIG No to all those who think in those lines.

When I first hit the gym, it was a good feeling. First 15 days was quite normal. Later on there were few symptoms which kept me away from being productive in office at all.. Over drowsiness and dizziness. Drinking electrol as everyone of you reading this post would have thought didn't help me much. I quit Gym. 15 days I was normal. It started all over again without Gym also. I went through simple blood test to check if I am anemic. It gave a surprising result. Yes I was Hypothyroidic. 5 out of 1000 women get this. It has no cure. Just take one tablet as everyone takes for BP and Diabetes generally to provide thyroxyne supplement to body. Nothing more to be done for this. This was the cause for me to put on weight. My colleagues had even thought I was expecting a baby looking at my growing size and puffiness in face n neck. Few did ask me also.

There are many such no cure diseases caused by Antibodies in our own body. Ppl only know about big names like AIDS, CANCER, H1N1 etc.. It is not something major which I have got. But ya, when you know that you have to take medicine for life time and have to keep urself fit all the time it did make me think for a min. I had 100s of questions in my mind. I am lucky enough to have my friends, parents, cousins who are all supportive and knowledgeable in medical field in someway or the other to convince me. I easily accepted it as I am the reason for it. My husband did ask me to take it practically and move on. True it is. If earlier itself I had at least made walking as my daily routine, may be it would have helped.!

When I read the imbalance a thyroxyne harmone can cause to a human body, I really felt that there is so much to know about our own self. Every organ is so important to live with. Only fitness and walking regime can prevent all these. Prevention is better than cure is 100% true.

Never ever compromise on that 30 mins of your time daily reserved for walking/yoga/Gym/whatever! It is so much important! Take care of each organ of your body! They dont have replacement warranty. :-)

When I was pondering about all these thoughts in my mind and this song started playing in mobile "Re kabira maan ja, re Faqeera maan ja.."

New phase...!

Uff so many confusions before the new year! Moving to a different phase of life. Moving to an independant house from shared paying guest accomodation. How on earth parents think so much and so many unwanted things all at a time I dont know..

Have been living with roommates for almost five and half years now. M used to this style of living by sharing everything with them by now, updating day today status among ourselves, gossips, fun, fights, nightouts and what not!

Now all of a sudden, I have chosen to live alone in a 1BHK house with self cooking and self sustained life. Major concern from everyone being I cannot live alone and I get bored as I am used to live with roommates. hmmm actually yes. But need to compromise on some or the other things in life ya! come on! have been sharing things with roomies, have been adjusting to the okay dokay type of food in PG and some or the other non-sensic n never ending comments from PG owner! Uff what not! Above all 20km of distance to office one way! All that is coming to an end from 1st of January.

U might ask then whats my problem now? Why m I cribbing in the beginning itself.. Buy this, buy that, if ur frnds come home, how much u ll cook in this small vessel; so a bigger one. One more for this occasion .. Uff m tired already. What all does these Mom's think M surprised about their vast thinking capacity! Once you solve one issue, one more starts. The next topic, oh I cant leave u alone from day one in new house. Not that she is scared or i will get scared. I will be alone so would like to give company for few days.

I am really tired convincing them.

Ah how can I forget the next important point?! :) Guess what?

A big list of instructions has started pouring in from the day I paid advance to the owner
- Don't let guys come in to the house
- DOnt get ur friends who are boys to house, dont give neighbours a chance to start to talk about u
- Keep the house clean
- Cook and eat. dont eat out anymore
- ...
- ..
- .. and the list goes on.. !

heheh wonder how come everyone become like this as soon as they get the responsibility of kids..

Anyways new year is gonna be something new. Hoping it to make the best year in my life with loads of good memories :)

Cheers,
Sadh :)

New day.. New thought.. :)

Yuppie here I'm back on my blog after more than an year!
As it is the end of 2011, all the TV channels start showing the whole year's event calendar as a re-cap now and all the news papers will have one additional supplement with the main sheet. Also on Jan 1st one calendar sheet with a bird or a lamp or any model's photo on it.. Ah! Usual routine :)

And to add to this, few ppl start making their new year resolution and few more start arguing on this context whats their in resolution blah blah as if they have been given the task of changing the mindset of Ppl. :)

But for me, When it comes to the year end, somehow I will be looking forward to change the calendar, wait for something refreshing... Getting bored of changing the channels not being able to watch the same re-caps everywhere :)

Ah I'm feeling glad at the end of this year that I could accomplish 80% of my resolutions for this year! :) Sounds like an objective setting and review in office right? hahah :)

New year is gonna begin with some interesting tasks for me! I will be getting loads of time for myself, setting up my house, Getting to know the new locality, some new plans for adventures n interests are in line. Giving an end to my PG life. Self sustained life of mine is gonna start with some cooking, house decoration experiments. They aren't my resolutions. But kinda waiting to start myself getting involved in this apart from the routine which is there for Big 5 years in Bangalore now!

Looking forward for an Awesome, eventful and Joyous year ahead! :)

My Childhood :)

Wow! Childhood. When u just listen to this word itself you go back to memories right? :) How nice were those days! I actually wanna go back to childhood itself not just into memories. If I had a TIME MACHINE I would have done that ;)

Wanna know how was my childhood?? :)Here I go with some of the best memories of my days..

- I like to see the sunrise but not the sunset. When I was in 2nd and 3rd standard I used to go with Dad to Pavilion grounds in Mysore on Sunday early mornings to see the BIIIG raising Sun. Dad used to go for jogging. I also used to get ready like a sports girl in shorts, t-shirt n shoes ;) Jog till the sun rises n then stand looking at it :)

- Playing with rubber band was one of my favorite pass times.. Use rubber band and fingers and try to make different shapes with that. Learning new shapes in that always interested me :)

- Kites :) Not the movie ;) ya loved to fly kites. During the festival time (gaaLipata habba) used to make a neat kite with plastic and put the thread and run in the street holding the thread in hand. But ya for festival used to get a big one from dad. Flying it in Yuvaraja college grounds with full big role of thread! Awesome it was. Once left the thread after flying it very very high :-P

- Seeing Dasara elephants is my favorite even to this day :)

- Parents used to take me to Mysore palace every Sunday to see the illumination. I used to wait for the lights to get on. When I was 2 yrs old I had run towards the palace to catch those lights ;)

- Fight with bro for the comic book "Balamangala" on every Wednesday :-P

- Feeding sparrows was one of my good times. I hardly see sparrows now. Those days many sparrows used to come n sit on the roof of our house. During my breakfast time, spreading little rice on the ground and counting the sparrows :)

- The most important one which makes u guys reading this laugh.. :) Me n my little brother studied in same school. Due to fever he didn't come to school for 3 days. 4th day while coming back from school I seriously forgot that he was in school that day n came back home. Poor bro! He was in LKG. n Me in 2nd standard. He was crying standing in the school :(

- Trying to catch butterflies :) Butterflies always seemed interesting to me! Colorful :)

- Playing typical girlish games :) skipping, blocks, kuntebille, house game and the most important teacher game which i always liked ;)

- Playing doubles skipping with mom when there were no friends also is memorable :)

- Mt first watch! I was so excited when my dad bought me a red colored watch with heart shaped dial for my birthday when I was in 5th standard :)

- First time I saw a fridge in my neighbor's house. When I was in 3rd standard. I was so wondered to see that. Every time when I went to play with the girl their, I used to ask aunty, "Aunty can I open and see the freezer?" :P n then her daughter myself n few more girls used to play with ice cubes :P

- Fancy dress competitions! :)

- Cotton candy, chocolates, soft toys, counting stars n gazing at sky, Bouquet red rose (which has a diff shade of red), 1 day trips with parents, summer vacation @ granny's place in Bangalore many more add to my childhood memories :))

Hmmm those were the days :) Wanna go back right? It reminded u all of ur childhood I know :) Share ur memories with me! I'm all excited to listen :)

Cheers

Tough time, Financial Independance for a Women and Old age

Somewaht I'm totally down today. Felt like writing all thoughts in my mind here. I suddenly realized how important it is for a women to be financially independat. My uncle passed away 2 days ago. Wife, One daughter of my age and one son who finished 12th and the aged mother in her 85.

By now you would have got the picture what is worrying me! Partially you are right. But yeah my cousin is working so little bit manageable position. Question is about My granny?! What next?! Dont know. All her daughters are married. 3 of them. But financially dependant on husbands. So there is no such decision which they can take on their own that whatever happens I'll take care of my mother! I'm answerable.. No this is not the case. Permission Permission Permission from Husband.

On the other hand, now at such an age, with hearing problem where will my granny go? who will take care. Others are not Ok. No one is ready actually..

Its tough for her also and those who take care of her also. She should be taken care like a kid. who will do that?!

I feeling too low now after seeing all these! Not in any position to console anyone also! Tough time.....

Now I realized the importance of financial independance for women and also how tough it is for a human being to live in this old age!

My ambition of starting an oldage home became stronger after this! Should see how it can be materialized....

On a heavily raining evening... :)

It was 6PM. I was in Bus. Towards Bangalore. It started raining heavily. Got stuck in the traffic jam for about an hour. Not moving ahead at all. Started conversation with the co-passenger. Usual stuff. What do u do? Where are you traveling from etc etc. That bus was coming from Coorg. Stop over at Mysore. Hence the discussion started on tourist places in and around coorg.

Could hear to many other parallel discussions also. Everyone in the bus were tired waiting for the traffic to clear. There were a mix of ppl from different background. One was a manager in HSBC bank. Another person was an engineer working for Bangalore Metro. One more young lady was a footwear designer. There was a kid who seem to be very intelligent. She was talking about Mystery stories of many well know authors. Studying in 3rd standard and her knowledge level was really astonishing! It was a mixture of stories in the bus. There was a person who was talking over phone to his old friend about his engineering days of 70s. Many other small kids were also traveling in the bus as it was the last day of summer vacation for them.

Finally the bus started from kengeri clearing the traffic jam slowly after a long pause of about an hour. The road was like a swimming pool with almost 2 ft water on the road. Somehow reached majestic. It started pouring again.

Stood under a small tea shop for shelter for about half an hour. It was getting darker and darker as time passed by. Almost 8:30PM. Started off towards the road to catch an auto. Luckily the Auto driver who was an elderly man in his 70s I guess, said yes. I was so happy that i got an auto to reach my pg at 8:30PM n in heavy rain. But yeah the demand was "one and half meter madam" happily said ok to that also :P

Now my enjoyable ride through Bangalore roads started.. Every road we entered was full of water. Road couldn't be seen at all. The driver was driving very carefully. He wasn't able to make out where the road was good, where there were pits. Nothing we could make out. I was enjoying that rain. First time in my 4 yrs life in Bangalore i was safely sitting and watching the whole city getting drenched :) Cool breeze. Rain Water sprinkles from the open sides of the auto. Felt like having hot hot pakodas with chai.. Ah!! What a combination in that weather! Unluckily i didn't have that. But my mouth was watering. :D

Meanwhile the driver was more tensed to get me home safely than myself. He said in a worried voice "madam customer na hathskondidhini auto ge safe agi karkond hodre saaku".. A car passing by splashed all the rain water on us and passed by with very high speed. I was totally drenched sitting in the auto :-/ Felt like going through a series of water rides in a water park :-)

Finally @9:20PM reached my PG. What an experience it was..! Decided never will travel back to Blr on a sunday evening until the rainy season is over. Though the experience was good; parents, my roomies n finally the auto driver himslef were tensed about me reaching safely.

It got added as one more experience to my Blr-Mys travel experiences.....

Tiring but nice journey! :)

Crazy Thoughts

Year 2009.. I never felt it was a good year for me! Though there were many success and failures, overall it wasn't a pleasant year. And again 2010 started badly.. Somehow not good. I hope there is an end to this. Some problems in life will never have a soln. I started feeling TIME is the answer to all these problems. With time, you encounter new problems which take high priority and the older ones automatically get solved somehow. Or even without solution they get ignored with time and with more difficulties.

Problem now is not at all a problem when something bigger than this is infront of me. Though the beginning is not good, there is never a bad ending. I didnt start this year with the enthusiasm I used to receive the new year every year. But I hope to make this year best for myself and the people around me. Still a long way to go. Have made no resolutions this year. I wonder why?! If I make a resolution I surely achieve them.

Want to talk about confidence also here. How confident a person can be? How much ever confident is one person, after listening to those who cribb always, who blame others for their mistakes, who dont have any goals set, the confident person also looses his confidence for sometime. When I thought why is this, I just found this answer. Those who look at a problem being an outsider will get to know the best solution.

I have seen two kinds of people. One, those who share their feelings with their closed ones and get the different view point and think in the best way. second, those who dont share anything and go in the same track of thinking? which one is best? Being an Introvert or an extorvert?

Some weird and crazy thoughts flew in my mind. Just put them here....

Comics.. Fiction.. Horror.. Thriller.. Suspense.. Love..

What does this title mean? :) Any guess? :-P Line of writings for the writers and types of readings for the Book readers... :) Yes I'm talking about Reading habits.. These days I'm talking too much about the hobbies right? May be.. But this topic came to my mind all of a sudden.. :)

There is a saying in Kannada "ದೇಶ ಸುತ್ತು ಕೋಶ ಓದು" which means travel all around the world, and read as many books as possible. I do read books.. Most of them belong to Kannada Literature which would give taste of all those words mentioned in the title of this post. I love to read those books which are small in size :-P so that I can finish it fast and pick up the next one. I like to own the book. So all most 95% of times I have bought the books to myself instead of borrowing it. You might ask do I have a library at home? Yes kind of.. ;)

But when reading as a habit comes in some general conversations with my friends or colleagues they give surprised looks and talk how can I read a book after my college days, that too kannada books.. Why shouldn't one read books? I wonder how much people are missing out by not reading books.. Few stick onto computer games and Internet all the time, few like to read only management stuff, few read only newspapers, few read only mythology or philosophy. I have seen people who belong to all these categories.. But I seriously feel how much people are missing by not reading and sticking onto TV and computers all the time!

When I was in school I tried to read shakespears.. Didnt understand much.. :P But stil I managed to read most of his dramas.. One more book about French Revolution which I read during my college days was by Maxim Gorky, "MOTHER" a very good french novel..

Wait for some book critics in my coming posts.. :)

Cheers,
Sady :)

Emotions in a Mixed Bag

Diary writing. Can it be called as a Hobby? I'm not sure. Read an article about diary writing about 5 years ago in a kannada magazine. That influenced me a lot. That was my engineering days. Didn't know what people write in diaries. But wanted to write! To my luck I was gifted a diary for the New year by my cousin. Diary looked very nice. velvet covered Red colored Diary. Started writing about the important events in college which I was part of. Made it a daily routine. Off late the enthu of writing it daily reduced. I remembered my diary only I felt bored or there was something important to quote!

After coming out of native place for job, it became a regular routine again as there were not many friends for me to share my thoughts. I didn't know blogging also that time. It contained many articles which could be published in some newspaper or online journal etc. It was all mix of thoughts and experience working in the IT city and travel during weekends to native. Some book critics as well.

Later when it became a hectic and mechanical lifestyle, reading the kannada literature and writing critics, also articles reduced. There are as many friends in Bangalore now as I have in my native place. My diary became a place where I write only When I'm feeling low.

Few days back I opened my diary after an year. Was reading through the pages. So many important events quoted in that. Mixed emotions while reading them. Many Gyans enlightenment also. I wrote it again. Had so many confusions thoughts in my mind. Wrote everything. Felt relieved after that. After so many years If I look back when I was thinking whats the use of writing a diary and now if I read my diary I realize. Yes I know. :) Being a chatter box, when I cannot reach my closed ones to share thoughts, I talk to my diary. :)

Misinterpretation of speech

Many a times you would have misinterpreted someone's words or others might have mistaken your words. For sure everyone would have come across such situations in life. My friend used to tell me always "One thing can be understood in 100 different ways". Yes that is true.

It is always the way how a person puts things across. Though it is said with the right intention, the listener might not get the correct point due to the tone of the speaker, which would lead to misunderstandings.

Take for ex: Sending an SMS. How well it is possible to express something in that? Might be something was told as fun. The tone might have been understood as being rude. Definitely difference of opinion would come between the two persons.

I have experienced few such situations myself and have been observing among others also. I sometimes think what is the good solution to avoid such difference of opinion? Is it good to convey the message only up to the point and leave it to the listener to interpret the way he understands or explains everything about the topic so that it is not mistaken at all? It is not always possible to explain things is what I understand. Whenever such a situation occurs, then it is good to make it clear.

The way we put things across!! Yes I have very good example for this from self and my friend's experience. In any company an employee speaking to his manger about his concerns. If all concerns are told highlighting the negative points, you know the impact! But if it is told in a positive aspect the result is different. The manager would definitely listen to your concerns and some action would be taken on that. But this is fine when a person is interacting with people who are not very close and conversation is limited to specific areas.

It cannot be done with all those who are close. Direct conversation, it is told the way how it comes to mind. But still why would a person mis-interpret is still a question to me! Including myself. Why don’t people get the correct message or the right meaning with which it was conveyed? Strange Question. Yet to find an answer..

Just this thought came to my mind.. Blogged here.. :) Comment your opinions too.

A day out with My Dad :-)

Dad & me, A day out! Wow! It was a wonderful day today... Enjoyed to the core roaming around in the countryside early in the morning! Seeing the Greenery, Colorful Birds, bullock carts, listening to birds chirping and flow of water stream..

It was after a long time I went out with dad on bike for a long drive. Whenever I go with him for such small outings, I get to know the hidden routes around Mysore which will be so calm and peaceful :-) For sure lots of photography Gyaan from him! :-)

Today started early in the morning at 6AM and went to Balamuri and then Karighatta. This is not the right season to visit the places. I didn't enjoy the place much this time. Kind of dry weather. Not heavy water flow of the cauvery which is the highlight of the place. There wasn't any water falls at all in Balamuri. I was told earlier by dad not to decide on those places. Still I wanted to go :-P

Hmm but still the 2km narrow stretch after the balamuri bridge towards Paschimavaahini was ultimate.. A small stream of water flows the sideways.. Lots of colorful birds chirping and flying here and there. I was trying to capture every bird I see in the eyes of my camera :) Dad was guiding from which angle and depth the photo would be best!

The best thing this time was the weaver birds weaving the nest by the riverside.. We were on the other side of the stream. Couldn't capture clear picture of the birds though I had 15x zoom cam.. :( But managed to capture the video! I had always seen such videos on National Geographic.. I was happy that I saw it and captured in my cam :)

Green paddy fields on the other side of the small route. The water droplets on the tip of the grass was shining in the early morning sun rays.. Always the photos my dad takes leads mine! :) And this time too :)

Overall a great day!! :-)

Cheers,
Sadh :)

Loong weekends...

Soo many long weekends this year!! Me Happy.. Starting from today one more long weekend is starting.. 4 days holidays!! Yuppie!! :) This give a break for me from my routine work.. I'll be back in my sweet home in Mysore as every weekend!

Eating, sleeping, roaming around with friends in the city in Hot sun.. :-P Getting scoldings from mom "horage ishtu bisilu, hogbeda!!" (Outside its so hot, dont go out!) ;-)

All these are a kind of fun... Traveling from Blr to Mys is no more fun for me because am not traveling by train any more.. Its by Bus and that too alone, which is very boring. Can't read any magazine or novel in bus as the lights will be switched off. Then, everybody will be sleeping! Travelling by Air conditioned buses wont have open windows.. So no fresh air also :-( can't look out of the window.. All together am not enjoying the Bus journey! :( Hectic work is making me skip the train journey..

But once I reach mys the fun is diff.. Have lots of plans for this loong weekend.. ;-) Have planned to goto Karighatta tomorrow early morning.. Its 15km from Mys towards Srirangapatna. Kauveri river flow looks beautiful from the hill... Lots n lots of colorful birds chirping here n there! Dont be surprised that am giving the details before visting.. I have visited once.. My favorite place.. Very calm and peaceful..

Some cooking sessions at home, friend's Bday celebrations etc etc in store for me for this loong weekend ;-)

You too have fun! Will update soon.. :)

Cheers!

A look back into the year 2008...

I was in full jolly mood when the year 2000 was about begin! I kept on telling we are entering into 21st century! Years are passing like days.. It’s already the end of the year 2008. 3 more days to go.. I definitely need to look back into the year and retrospect.

The year 2008 was a mix of both happiness and sorrows for me. Each incident was a learning experience. As and when there were more happier and sad situations I have learnt that such moment was nothing in front of this. Need to overcome all the situations.

I lost my grandpa on 12th Jan, 08. He was my great advisor. I still remember the stories he told me when he was part of the 2nd world war, emergency period during Indira Gandhi’s rule etc. Miss u thaatha.. :(

The great learning for me was in Bharat Cancer Hospital, Mysore. We think ours is the biggest problem on this earth, when I saw small children (who don’t even speak still), elderly persons in their 80’s suffering from different kinds of cancers which is not curable at all I learnt to think optimistic and overcome problems in life. At the same time console people and give them some hope about life so that they recover soon!

Compared to the last year, I have been more professional and responsible at my work. Have taken up more challenging and more responsible work. I still remember the day when my teammate once said, “Don’t wait for the opportunities, you should create one” when I was cribbing about not giving some responsibilities at work. I took it very seriously. Today I’m in Finland to carry out a very responsible task for my team. A great learning in one year. Onsite opportunity has given me lot more chances to interact with various kinds of people. Learn to live alone, be more responsible etc.

If I look into my resolutions at the beginning of the year 2008, I have tried to achieve most of them. I’m happy that I have worked for it and have grown up over the days. Now its time to make up resolutions for the year 2009 :)

3 more days to go.. I wish u all a very Happy and Prosperous new year ahead!!

Cheers!
